Brocante look lantaarntje

Een lantaarn in brocante look, een kanten lintje, pagina's uit oude Franse kranten en een hyacint.. Heel simpel en zo'n leuk resultaat.

La saucière

Mijn eerste post sinds lange tijd in het Nederlands. 

Kon het echter niet weerstaan om de titel in Frans te schrijven.. La saucière klinkt toch veel mooier dan sauskom? 

Deze saucière heb ik een tijdje geleden gekocht, "Seltmann Weiden Bavaria". 
De details zijn prachtig en dat maakt deze kom zo bijzonder vind ik. Toevallig heb ik er ook een schaal en vleesschaaltjes van. 
Hoop nog meer van deze serie te vinden. 

Helaas vind ik nergens in welk jaar deze serie gemaakt is.
Misschien weet één van jullie dit?

De oude bakvormpjes heb ik ook via Marktplaats gekocht.
De ronde zijn mijn favoriet en zien er nog prachtig uit.
De ovale zijn duidelijk wat ouder, maar dat maakt ze niet minder mooi. Hoe veel gebakjes zullen hiermee gebakken zijn..?

Helaas zullen we dit nooit te weten komen, maar bij mij mogen ze genieten van hun pensioen. 

Het kanten kleedje maakt het geheel af en geeft het net dat tikkeltje extra.

English or Nederlands?

Dear followers/readers, lieve volgers/lezers,

For quite some time now, I'm thinking about writing this blog in my own language again. After all, I come from the Netherlands.

Sinds een tijd ben ik mij aan het bedenken deze blog weer in mijn eigen taal te schrijven, uiteindelijk ben ik Nederlands.

After all, there is the possibility to translate for everyone who can't read the written language.

Tenslotte is er de mogelijkheid tot vertaling voor iedereen die de geschreven taal niet kan lezen.

Sometimes I get the idea, some readers prefer reading only or don't post a comment because of the language.. 

Soms heb ik het idee, dat sommige lezers liever alleen lezen of niet reageren vanwege de taal.

Kitchen corner

It's all about corner's this last weeks.

Today pictures of my kitchen corner. 
I've already posted some pictures a while ago ("My new kitchen Part II"), but since I've bought some new brocante, it was time for new pictures. 

I'm still in love with my pie box from the and it's patina.

How many pastries have been baken in those old tins..?

This gorgeous kitchen scale from the 1900's - 1920's.

New brocante

As you know, I've visited some brocante shops last week and bought a few beauties.
Today I would like to show you my bottle rack and a bundle of old French papers. 

I was so happy to find a small bottle rack and it still looks great after all those years..
Right now, it holds my small collection of milk jugs on my dining table.

The old French papers are from the 19th century. I love to look at them, knowing they travelled a long way and still look so good.

Brocante in Beeg

Brocante in Beeg is a wonderful shop in Grevenbicht, the Netherlands. 

Ine and her husband are passionate for old furniture and decorations from France and Belgium. 

They also restore and paint found furniture in their own workshop. 

This shop is one of my favorites and Ine is such an nice lady. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Another corner

This week I received my two antique stable windows, that I bought online. Unfortunately one of the two was broken and the other didn't look at all like the two shown on the picture. 

I was very mad, very sad and will not think about it at all anymore. Just one word for the mister who sold them; Karma. 

This window is still intact and looks perfect on my chest of drawers combined with my ‘antiques’ sign, my candle stand from House Doctor and two old lace spools.

Tomorrow I’m going on a shopping/brocante spree, hopefully I will find lots of new things that make me forget this week’s purchase..

Baby's breath corner

New decorations in my living room; an old rechaud, baby's breath an old petit fours tong, a mercury glass chandle stand and some ployer's eggs in a pretty glass bowl.

The cabinet is still in mint-green, but will be painted white in the summer.

I gave it lots of thoughts, but I think the decorations look more beautiful on a white cabinet. I keep seeing the color first, then the decorations.

Old book shelf

Yes! I've found an old book (wine)shelf!

A while ago, I've visited a lovely lady. She has a gorgeous decorated home with white and grey walls and white furniture and decorations. It all makes a perfect picture and is a great inspiration. She also had this wine shelf for her books and magazines.

I didn't had a closet for my books and stalled them at the top shelf in my corner closet.

Yesterday I found this wine shelf on the internet and had to have it... It fits perfect next to my tv cabinet and can hold all my books and magazines. I love the combination of the iron and white/pastel colored books.
